Lotus Root Balls Miso Soup

Enjoy the different textures of yam cake (konjac) and lotus root (renkon) balls in the miso soup.

Ingredients (4 servings)

Konjac balls 4
Green onion 8 cm
Dashi stock 800 cc
Miso 3-1/2 tablespoons
<Renkon balls>
 Potato starch
1/2 section
1/2 tablespoon

Kome (Rice) miso


  1. Grate the renkon, add the potato starch and mix. Then make 8 renkon balls. Cut the konjac balls in halves and chop the green onion finely.
  2. Boil the renkon balls and konjac balls in the dashi stock.
  3. After the ingredients are cooked, lower the heat and dissolve the miso. Serve the miso soup in bowls with the green onion on top.

★ A Note

You can add grated yam in making renkon balls. Renkon balls go well with konjac balls in this miso soup.
