Sea Snail and Green Onion Miso Soup

This is a miso soup of sea snails living on the rocky shore (isomono). Their shells also give a good dashi.

Ingredients (4 servings)

Isomono sea snails 20
Konegi (Thin green onion) 4 stalks
Dashi stock 800 cc
Miso 3-1/2 tablespoons

Directions

  1. Chop the konegi finely.
  2. Bring the dashi stock to a boil and add the isomono sea snails. After the isomono is cooked, add the konegi and boil for a short time.
  3. Lower the heat and dissolve the miso. Serve the miso soup in bowls.

★ A Note

Various isomono sea snails are available from region to region. If you find any at a supermarket, try this miso soup.
